Health & Wash
Health and wash programs are the prerogative of ALPHA Iraq team, which is mainly composed of active MD’s willing to ensure the right to health services for all Iraqi citizens.
2018- Drinking-Water sanitation through installing (ROs) in 2 IDP camps, Abu Ghraib district, donor Secours Catholique, Caritas France (SCCF). Beneficiaries, 2610 individuals.
2019- Minimizing public health deficiencies through the Rehabilitation and management of Al Ahl camp, dispensary -Abu Ghraib, donor SCCF. ALPHA refurbished and equipped the camp dispensary in a state of deterioration. The team established a patient file system, hired and trained two women living in the camp - receptionist and cleaning person - provided medical items, administrated the dispensary for nine months. The team implemented a referral system with a network of private doctors who treated emergency cases and camp patients for free. Beneficiaries, 175 families.
May 2020- Improving collaboration between local NGO’s. Covid prevention campaign, Al shams and Al Ahl camp Abu Ghraib, in collaboration with a local Iraqi association Noor Al Noor and the Iraqi medical support team. Beneficiaries, 200 families.
June 2020- Engaging women in domestic and public hygiene issues. Covid-19 prevention campaign, Al shams camp, Abu Ghraib, donor SCCF, including special sessions for women on domestic and public hygiene. Beneficiaries, 50 families, out of which are 150 women.
July-September 2020- Engaging local youth in monitoring and preventing epidemic impacts on affected populations. COVID-19 door-to-door sensitization campaign, food security, and hygiene awareness, in three villages, Al Anbar governorate, Fallujah district, donor SCCF. Total Number of beneficiaries, 7310 individuals, trainees 15 local youth men and women, medical team involved 7 MD students.

2021-Enhancing local Md’s and medical staff capacities with the support of CCFD-Terre Solidaire. Creation of a medical webinar platform, the Hippocrates Platform.
