Inclusive Environmental Education – Curriculum Adaptation and Training Company, NGO, or group of individuals (hereinafter referred to as the “Consultant”


Requirements

 Scope of Work

The Consultant will be responsible for mobilizing a qualified team and carrying out the following tasks:

  • Review project objectives and materials, including existing environmental education curriculum (in Arabic language).
  • Visit the Arisheh Ecological Center to identify relevant opportunities for inclusive adaptation and to become familiar with the implementation setting where the inclusive environmental education sessions for children and youth will be conducted.
  • Develop and tailor a structured set of inclusive environmental sessions, detailing their objectives/outcomes, accessibility features, step-by-step implementation, facilitation guidance, and practical aspects such as location, duration, group size, required accessibility materials, and safety considerations.
  • Facilitate participatory consultations with disability-focused organizations, people with disabilities, caregivers, and other stakeholders supporting children with disabilities to inform and validate curriculum design and adaptation.
  • Ensure that the created materials align with universal design for learning (UDL) principles, inclusive education best practices, are culturally sensitive and age-appropriate.
  • Develop a detailed proposal presenting the methodology and implementation plan for the curriculum adaptation and training activities.
  • In collaboration between the curriculum consultant and trainer mobilized by the consltant, design training materials that facilitate the implementation of the adapted curriculum to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Design and deliver four interactive training days for a selected group of animators to introduce the adapted curriculum and train them in its effective and practical usage. The workshops will take place in Wadi el Karm.
  • After the training, oversee the animators’ preparation and application of the inclusive activities at the Arisheh Ecological Center with groups of children, support them through coaching, and revise the curriculum as necessary.
    Eight (8) to Ten (10) follow-up visits should be planned.

 

4. Deliverables

The consultant will deliver the following:

  • Final technical proposal or Inception Report including work plan, curriculum adaptation, methodology, and tools.
  • Adapted Curriculum integrating inclusive and accessibility elements, developed in draft form for review by ALPHA and finalized based on ALPHA’s feedback and the follow-up visits.
  • Four (4)-Day Training Workshop delivered to the animators, including hand-outs, PowerPoints, Word documents or other materials, as well as pre- and post-tests.
  • Follow-up and coaching of the animators on the application of the adapted curriculum at the Arisheh Ecological Center with groups of children.
  • Final Report for the training summarizing all activities carried out, along with key lessons learned and actionable recommendations
  • Final Report for the whole consultancy summarizing all activities carried out, along with key lessons learned and actionable recommendations.
